Contribute legal expertise at Dalhousie University as an Associate Legal Counsel focused on research and innovation. Provide advice on intellectual property, contractual obligations, and regulatory compliance.

Reporting to the Vice-President of Research and Innovation, the successful candidate will work alongside the Senior Associate Legal Counsel. This role requires a law degree and at least two years of legal practice experience. You will engage with researchers and staff to navigate legal considerations surrounding research agreements and intellectual property.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal support on research agreements and contracts
• Advise staff on intellectual property and compliance matters




• Manage research contract administration and compliance
• Assist in developing and reviewing research policies
• Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate agreements

Requirements:
• LLB, JD, or equivalent law degree
• Minimum two years of legal practice experience
• Knowledge of intellectual property law
• Solid negotiation and legal judgment skills
• Excellent communication abilities in complex legal contexts
