Canada Rocket Company is developing Canada's first medium-lift launch vehicle. We are a team of veterans from SpaceX, Blue Origin, Rocket Lab, ArianeGroup, Pangea Propulsion, Tesla, MDA, and more, bringing over a century of combined launch and space systems experience back to Canada. Our mission is to provide reliable, independent access to space for Canada and its allies in a rapidly expanding global market. Our approach is defined by pragmatic engineering:We utilize a single 725 kN engine that scales from light- to medium-lift via engine clusteringWe lean on simple, proven technologies to reach orbit faster, avoiding the pitfalls of complex or novel designsWe test early and often, catching problems on the bench instead of at the padBacked by over $20M in funding secured within our first four months, including the largest all-Canadian seed round in the sector and an $8.3M Department of National Defence grant, we are moving with the speed and institutional backing required to meet Canada's orbital launch needs.About the roleCanada Rocket Company is building a sovereign launch capability for Canada. We're looking for a Fluids Analyst who is equally proficient in performing first order calculations as they are in running CFD or developing their own analysis code. This role owns the fluid environments of the vehicle itself, both inside and out: from cryogenic propellant loading and stage fluid systems to ascent and re-entry aerothermodynamics. You will work across design, analysis, development, operation, and reuse scenarios in a fast-moving development environment. This is a highly technical role for someone who wants to make consequential design decisions,
and to help define the stage fluid systems and aerodynamic character of an orbital launch vehicle program from the ground up.What You Will DoPredict ascent and re-entry aerothermal environments to drive vehicle thermal protection designGenerate aerodynamic coefficient databases across sub/trans/super/hypersonic regimes to support trajectory, GNC, and loads analysisAnalyze aerodynamic loads and compartment venting environments across the flight envelopePerform thermal-fluid analysis of cryogenic propellant loading and ground operationsAnalyze stage fluid systems from tank outlet to engine interface, including transients and propellant management through all flight phasesDevelop and validate tank pressurization system models to drive pressurant budget and ullage design decisionsBuild, run, and maintain system-level fluid models and CFD, including in-house Python/MATLAB codes where commercial tools fall shortSupport test and flight campaigns with pre-test predictions and post-test data reconciliationRun trade studies on vehicle configuration, stage architecture, and operating points to inform design decisionsSupport anomaly investigations and root-cause analysis for fluid- and aero-related issuesQualificationsRequired7+ years of experience with one or more of the following:Vehicle or stage fluid systems analysisAerodynamic or aerothermal analysis of flight vehiclesExperience with cryogenic fluidsInclination toward a fast-paced, resource-constrained setting with rapid hardware development using iterative design-build-test cycles that are central to the engineering cultureBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related fieldPreferredSub/trans/super/hypersonic aerodynamics of vehicles during ascent and re-entryAerodynamic database generation and validation against test or flight dataRe-entry heating analysis and thermal protection system sizingExperience with propellant loading, ground fluid systems, or launch operationsThermal analysis proficiencyExperience with liquid bipropellant launch vehiclesExperience with methane systemsExposure to complex fluid systems as well as understanding the behaviour of the mechanisms in those systemsFunctional proficiency in CAD and Python #J-18808-Ljbffr
