Crown Paper Group is a regional leader in the paper and containerboard industry, comprising four
business divisions: Port Townsend Paper Company, Crown Corrugated Company, Boxmaster, Viking Way
Plant and Industrial Products. With operations in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, the group
includes an integrated containerboard mill, two converting facilities, and three distribution centers.
Crown Paper Group specializes in manufacturing recycled and virgin kraft containerboard, kraft pulp, and
specialty products, while its converting operations excel in customer engagement and distribution
networks across British Columbia and Alberta.
Function & Scope: The HR Coordinator provides frontline HR support and assists in the full employee
lifecycle (onboarding to exit). The HR Coordinator will assist with HR administrative tasks such as leave
administration, digitizing files, assist with recruitment and onboarding, and be the front-line support for

Key Responsibilities
HR Coordination
Compliance & Employee Records
Maintain and update employee information in HR systems such as PeopleSoft, ensuring accuracy in roles, hours worked, and other key data.
Scan paper employees files and save to electronic files as well as HRIS.
Ensure all employee-related documentation is properly recorded and filed, adhering to company policies and legal standards.
Prepare and verify reference and employment letters, ensuring accuracy in employment history, job roles, and compensation.
Respond to routine employee questions about policies, benefits, and HR procedures, escalating more complex issues to the appropriate HR team member.
Assist with tracking compliance items such as required training, certifications, and probationary period milestones.
Help maintain and organize HR policies, forms, and the employee handbook, ensuring documents stay current.
Assist with cross border employee letters
Supporting onboarding logistics for new employees
Length of service preparation including ensuring lists are updated and maintained by quarter based on awards presented. Preparation of certificates and cards for presentations.
Payroll & Benefits
Assist with payroll & benefits processes as back-up as well as ongoing for payroll continuity
Assist with reconciling accounts
Assist with year-end balancing and reconciliations as required
Qualifications & Experience
Completion or enrollment in HR courses towards becoming a CPHR
Completion of PCP or enrollment in program
2 – 3 years’ experience in HR or Payroll
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills — written and verbal
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
