Experienced Technical Project Manager contract role supporting the development and delivery of a large-scale public-facing digital platform, including agile software delivery, cloud releases, technical leadership, integrated applications, risk management, and multi-project coordination.

Full-time remote role requiring availability for at least seven hours each Alberta Business Day, with possible occasional work in Edmonton.

Initial 12-month contract anticipated to begin October 26, 2026, with a potential extension of up to 12 additional months.

What & Why: Our client, a provincial public-sector organization, is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to support the continued development, implementation, and operation of a large-scale digital platform and related web applications. The successful candidate will manage an inflight agile cloud-software development project and several related initiatives. The work includes delivery planning, backlog and sprint coordination, release governance, risk management, technical leadership, executive reporting, and coordination across business and engineering teams.

Who: The Technical Project Manager will join a multidisciplinary digital-delivery workplace involving software development, architecture, infrastructure, cloud, content, business, and program stakeholders. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects and teams concurrently, provide project-management direction to staff and consultants, and deliver regular status reporting to senior leadership.

You: You are an experienced Technical Project Manager who understands how modern web applications are designed, developed, tested, released, and supported. You can lead agile delivery while also participating credibly in discussions involving cloud environments,



application architecture, integrations, authentication, CI/CD, release readiness, and production deployments. You communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, identify delivery risks early, and maintain control over timelines, dependencies, decisions, and project outcomes.

Critical experience requirements include: A university degree or two-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline, combined with at least seven years of experience on web-based software development projects

OR A one-year certificate in computer science or a related discipline, combined with at least nine years of experience on web-based software development projects

At least three years directly project managing agile web-software development projects

Experience leading backlog management, sprint planning, stakeholder coordination, delivery tracking, and multidisciplinary software teams

Experience managing web-software projects hosted on AWS, Azure, GCP, or comparable cloud infrastructure

Understanding of release governance, environment management, CI/CD processes, deployment coordination, and production readiness

Experience using Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent project-management tools

Experience managing applications with multiple integrated components, authentication or identity services, external system integrations,



content-management functionality, and large-scale public access

Ability to lead technical discussions, influence solution design, resolve delivery issues, and bridge business and engineering teams

Experience providing architectural guidance for cloud and non-cloud solutions

Experience managing multiple projects, teams, dependencies, and stakeholder groups concurrently

Strong project-governance, executive-reporting, decision-management, and written-status-reporting capabilities

Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, tracking, mitigating, escalating, and communicating software-delivery risks

Ability to work remotely for at least seven hours each Alberta Business Day and maintain an appropriate remote workspace and equipment

Ability to complete a satisfactory criminal record check before beginning the assignment

Nice to have: Government, education, public-sector, or other large-enterprise digital-delivery experience

Experience delivering high-volume public websites, portals, digital-content platforms, or content-management systems

Advanced experience with Azure and Azure DevOps

Experience with SSO, identity and access management, APIs, external integrations and multilingual content platforms

Experience preparing business cases

PMP, PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or comparable project-management and agile certifications

Experience using approved AI-assisted tools to improve project planning, reporting, risk analysis, or delivery coordination while independently validating all outputs

Compensation: Competitive hourly contract rate based on experience, qualifications, technical-delivery background, and overall fit.
