Description The Clinical Services Program is seeking a casual Technician 4 (Dental Assistant Level II) to work in the CAMH Dental Clinic. Reporting to the clinic Manager, you will work collaboratively with the other members of the Dental Clinic team to provide patient-centered oral health care to inpatients and outpatients receiving mental health and addiction treatment at CAMH. The role includes assisting clinicians with all aspects of general dentistry and implant procedures, supporting clinic operations, maintaining instruments and equipment, and delivering administrative and reception duties.

The position emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and safe, inclusive care in a quick-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for preparations for all dental procedures and will provide chair-side assistance to the dental clinicians in all aspects of general dentistry and implant surgery, including radiography. You will process, maintain, and replace/order instruments, and perform reception duties such as scheduling patient appointments, tracking lab work, preparing patients’ records, and processing patient billing. Qualifications The successful candidate will have completed a post-secondary technical training program in dental assisting, HARP certification, have at least three (3) years of experience, and be a member in good standing with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association.

Experience working with patients with substance use and/or mental health issues is preferred.

Clinic utilizes electronic dental record and x-ray programs, therefore proficiency with computer systems is required. You will be a team player who possesses excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, and customer service skills. You will demonstrate thorough attention to detail and accuracy, particularly while working in dynamic situations in a fast-paced environment. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Salary Range: $33.76 – $38.89 per hour
