Are you an experienced maintenance leader with a strong technical background and a passion for equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and team development in a manufacturing environment?
We're hiring a Maintenance Manager for a leading manufacturing organization. This is a key plant leadership role responsible for leading the maintenance function, improving equipment performance and reliability, managing preventative maintenance programs, and supporting continuous improvement across the facility. You will lead a skilled maintenance team while working closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to minimize downtime and support overall plant performance.
Maintenance Manager Responsibilities: Lead and manage the maintenance team, including resource planning, training, development, and performance management
Plan and coordinate equipment maintenance, repair, modification, and improvement activities across the facility
Develop and maintain effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
Monitor daily equipment downtime, past-due PMs, departmental overtime, and other maintenance performance indicators
Drive year-over-year continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, cost reduction, and plant performance
Develop annual maintenance budgets and monitor monthly performance, implementing corrective action plans where required
Coordinate and supervise outside contractors supporting maintenance, facility, and equipment projects
Support equipment specifications, cost estimates, project planning, equipment installations, relocations, and facility improvements
Manage spare parts inventory and approve purchasing requirements to support equipment reliability
Work closely with Operations and other departments to identify equipment issues and implement sustainable corrective actions
Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, automation, and equipment-related issues
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSA, applicable regulatory requirements, and company standards
Promote a strong culture of health, safety, environmental responsibility, quality, and good housekeeping
Conduct workplace inspections, support incident investigations, and ensure hazards and unsafe conditions are addressed promptly
Identify employee training requirements and coordinate technical and safety training with Human Resources
Provide technical leadership and maintenance support across required shifts
Promote teamwork and collaboration within Maintenance and across plant departments
Maintenance Manager Qualifications: Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Professional Engineering or a related engineering discipline required
Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance, engineering, or related manufacturing experience
Previous supervisory or management experience required
Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance, equipment reliability,
preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
Experience managing maintenance teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
Experience managing maintenance budgets, downtime, PM completion, labour costs, and departmental KPIs
Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards is considered a strong asset
Familiarity with OHSA, environmental regulations, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, and other applicable legislation
Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing production and maintenance requirements
Flexibility to provide support outside regular working hours when operational requirements demand it
Employment Details: $120,000–$130,000 annual salary
