SMS Equipment is looking for a Time Capture Supervisor to provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and oversight to the Time Capture team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely time capture processes, supporting team development, maintaining compliance with collective agreements and company policies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across SMS Equipment.

Work Location: Acheson, Alberta.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Schedule: Monday to Friday. What You'll Do:

- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the Time Capture team, ensuring expectations, priorities, and responsibilities are clearly understood.

- Coordinate daily time entry activities and pay-period balancing to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of payroll-related processes.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, training, and cross-training initiatives.

- Create, update, and maintain work instructions and processes that promote consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Operations, and branch teams to resolve timecard issues and support accurate employee time reporting.

- Respond to payroll-related time capture inquiries and escalate complex issues as required.
- Generate, maintain, and audit time capture reports to ensure employee hours, premiums, and coding are accurately recorded.

- Conduct final reviews and sign-off of balanced hours to support payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain eXtend labour rate and premium tables and ensure system configurations align with collective agreements and terms and conditions.

- Support system updates, process improvements,



and continuous improvement initiatives related to time capture and payroll operations.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and professional work environment while providing hands-on support to the team as required.

What You Bring: The successful candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years of experience in time capture, and a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.

Formal payroll training is considered an asset. You are an effective people leader with strong payroll and time capture knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. Other requirements include:

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, formatting, and shortcuts.

- Strong knowledge of time capture processes and payroll fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of shift patterns, premiums, overtime calculations, union agreements, and terms and conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and mentor team members.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems, including UKG and electronic time capture systems.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Robust organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.




- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
