As a Truck Body Design Technician, you will design and develop truck-mounted equipment and service truck applications. Using SolidWorks, you will create 3D models, detailed shop drawings, and bills of materials to support fabrication.
While working on service trucks, you will also consider chassis specifications, weight distribution and axle loads as part of the design process and provide technical support during installation and commissioning. You will collaborate with the manufacturing team to continuously improve Quest Fabrication’s designs and mechanical design practices.
Who you are

You enjoy solving technical challenges and collaborating with a team to ensure the project goes from concept to completion.
What you bring
· Experience in drafting and design, along with post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, automotive design, or a related field.
· Proficiency with 3D CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or specialized truck-upfit software.
- You are a creative individual with an eye for design and finding solutions that are unique.
· Understanding of metal fabrication, welding practices, vehicle dynamics, and gross vehicle weight ratings · Knowledge of 12-volt wiring an asset
You Are:
· A practical problem-solver who designs with manufacturability in mind.
· Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative, and comfortable working directly with customers, sales, leadership, and the shop floor.
· A clear communicator who can explain technical drawings and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Detail-oriented and committed to accurate, compliant designs to fit the changing needs of a project
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
