Duties

- Safely operate a Class 1 commercial truck to transport freight over short and long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems to ensure roadworthiness
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep the vehicle in optimal condition




- Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse staff to confirm delivery schedules and address any logistical issues promptly
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely when handling freight within warehouses or loading docks

Experience

- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with freight transportation across diverse routes
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and transportation regulations
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks and trailers
- Solid communication skills for coordinating with team members, dispatchers, and clients
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment, including lifting heavy items when necessary
