Renison University College, affiliated with the University of Waterloo, invites applications for the full-time, contract position of Administrative Officer within the Office of the Registrar. (Approximate contract length: 13 months)

Objectives: The Registrar’s Office is involved in all aspects of academic life, undergraduate student admissions, enrolment, examinations, development and application of academic policies, and convocation. Reporting to the Registrar, the Administrative Officer is responsible for coordinating and overseeing activities related to timetabling management and course scheduling, and data collection, records and reports.

The Administrative

Officer is an expert source of knowledge for the Registrar and for academic and administrative units at Renison and provides support to the Office of the Registrar, as well as the Academic Dean and program units within Renison.



This is accomplished as the incumbent holds a broad knowledge of administrative processes and procedures at Renison and the University of Waterloo. Additionally, the incumbent will represent Renison in a manner consistent with the values, goals, and strategic directions of the University College.

Education

- University degree required; combination of education and experience preferred

Experience:
- Several years of administrative experience including a records management environment and/or a university setting
- Familiarity with Renison and University of Waterloo (specific) policies and procedures an asset
- Demonstrated project management, analytical, and planning abilities
- Ability to problem solve in complex environments with tact and good judgment; to identify and prevent potential problems and generate solutions
- Ability to take initiative, show resourcefulness and be attuned to the needs of various groups/individuals
- Detail oriented, with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to integrate details into the bigger picture, working to support organizational needs and direction
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to exercise diplomacy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to coordinate multiple priorities and a high volume of work in a deadline-oriented workplace
- Highly self-motivated, ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective team member
- Strong computer skills, advanced knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Quest an asset; knowledge of databases and records management systems
