Advanced Development Engineer Global Headquarters – Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada The Advanced Development Engineer is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of innovative product concepts from ideation through to handoff for commercialization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise who can navigate ambiguity, drive innovation, and align engineering solutions with business and customer needs. This is a fully onsite position and requires daily attendance at our facility in Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada.

Advanced Development Manager Qualifications Minimum 5 years in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in product development.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience Skills Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

Strong verbal communication and presentation skills

Excellent written communication skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Proficiency with CAD software, including CATIA

Experience with embedded systems

Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) documentation processes

Knowledge of automotive standards and manufacturing processes Salary Range $75,000 – $115,000 Job Responsibilities Lead Innovation:



Identify and define new product opportunities and enhancements based on market/technological trends, customer, and legislative needs.

Develop & Validate Concepts: Create, analyze, and test innovative concepts using engineering tools and prototypes.

Lead internal teams and external partners to align development with business goals.

Lead Incubator Session Process: Assemble and guide cross-functional discussions to generate current ideas and solutions, and follow up to implementation

Manage Projects: Oversee advanced development projects from concept to handoff, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

Engage Customers: Interface with customers to generate excitement, gather feedback and refine concepts to meet their needs.

Support IP & Technology Strategy: Contribute to patent filings and stay current with emerging technologies.

Transfer Knowledge: Deliver complete technical and marketing handoff packages to Product Engineering and Sales. Health, Safety & Wellness Prioritize safety and comply with the Health and Safety Management System.

Support risk reduction, hazard identification, and continuous improvement efforts.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and wellness legislation and KSR standards.
