Catch Your Next Wave!

We're looking for an Animatic Editor to join us on a prospective 2D unannounced project!

In this role, you will work help craft the story with the episodic director, to assess scene storyboards and previz material, making sure we’re getting everything the story requires. We are looking for someone with a track record of animatic editing on episodic who, has a good sense of humor and enjoys being part of a creative team.

Start Date: June 9, 2025*

End Date: August 15, 2025*

*subject to change

While we prioritize applications from people whose contracts are ending soon, we will also consider those on longer contracts that may overlap. If the team is interested in moving forward, our Artist Manager can speak with your current Producer about the potential transfer.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Do:

- Edit and assess the animatic through multiple stages, from initial assemble to final lock
- Trouble shoot scenes/sequences where pacing, story or action isn’t working, offer alternative cuts and/or suggestions for storyboard revisions
- Fill in the audio bed with temp sfx & music
- Communicate effectively with the director
- Update and maintain an organized layout for all incoming content and source material for editorial purposes
- Maintain the episode re-use sfx lists
- Manage editorial project/bins/media files efficiently

What You'll Bring:

- 2-3 years of animatic editorial experience
- Solid understanding of post procedures, production and workflow
- Strong understanding of Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premier Pro editing software is a must

Strong understanding of the needs of the Story,

- Pacing, Comedic Timing, Action Sequences and overall Scene Development
- Understanding of CG geometry, camera positioning, and the ability to provide alternative solutions when scenes/sequences aren’t working so well
- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Creative and proactive problem solving skills
- Robust interpersonal skills and the desire to work as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills

Nice to Have

- Previous experience editing on an episodic series is a plus
- Degree or Diploma from a recognized film production school an asset
