Job Title: Automotive Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Diagnostics & Repair
- Review work orders and discuss repair requirements with the supervisor.
- Inspect vehicles in operation and perform road tests to diagnose issues.
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment and testing devices to identify faults and malfunctions.
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate defects and determine repair requirements.
- Diagnose faults and confirm findings with the supervisor before repairs.
Maintenance & Servicing
- Perform scheduled maintenance services including:
- Oil changes
- Lubrication services
- Tune-ups
- Tire mounting and balancing
- Wheel alignments
- Test and adjust repaired systems according to manufacturer specifications.
Automotive System Repairs
Repair, adjust, or replace components of:
- Fuel systems
- Brake systems
- Steering and suspension systems
- Engines and drivetrains
- Emission control and exhaust systems
- Cooling and climate control systems
- Electrical and electronic systems
Documentation & Customer Service
- Complete repair reports and service documentation accurately.
- Advise customers regarding completed work, vehicle condition, and future maintenance requirements.
- Provide professional customer service.
- Coach and mentor apprentices when required.
Salary
- Flat Rate: CAD $40.00 per hour
- After obtaining Journeyperson Trade Certificate: CAD $50.00 per hour
Requirements
Education:
- Completion of Secondary School (High School) is mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum 6 years (72 months) of automotive repair experience.
- Minimum 9,360 hours of relevant work experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks.
- Hands-on experience using scan tools, hand tools, and automotive repair equipment.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Journeyperson Certificate as an Automotive Service Technician in Canada.
- Must be eligible to apply for Trades Competency Verification (TCV).
- Candidates must be willing to challenge the Canadian trade theory examination upon arrival.
License
- Valid driver's license (equivalent to Class 5) is required.
Language
- English communication skills are mandatory.
