Job Position: Backend Java Developer

The goal of the project is to provide easy access to a broad range of reference data information for the FID and Equity business unit to help them make informed business decisions. The project involves some degree of data warehousing, a data access layer that provides transparent access to data whether it resides in the warehouse or elsewhere, and interfaces which are used by traders, sales and research.

We are seeking a Java Developer who would work on a plant comprising of various components built using Java, Scala, Perl, Shell, Java, Sybase technologies. The developer will work on the project supporting loaders and investigating problems reported by users. The successful candidate will also work on development projects with the NY, Montreal & India based teams.

This individual should have superior communication and problem solving skills.



This individual is expected to be flexible with learning new technologies and should have some basic SQL programming skills. We are looking for someone who is a hands-on developer and is interested in interacting with the business users.

He/she should have exposure to Financial Markets and be interested in learning the Fixed Income Pricing world.

Skills Required

Strong in Java, basic SQL and OOP concepts

Familiarity in Perl, UNIX shell scripting languages- Familiarity of the UNIX/Linux workplace

Working knowledge of RDBMS

Knowledge in logical and physical relational data modeling

Skills Desired

Familiarity in Scala

Knowledge of Sybase ASE, T

SQL, stored procedure development, performance tuning, query optimization

Knowledge of Java
