We're looking for a BG Layout Artist to join us on a 2D Unannounced Project!

If you have a background in backgrounds, a solid understanding of perspective and space, and a keen eye for colour then we have just what you're looking for!

Start Date: July 21/ August 11, 2025

End Date: September 5/ October 3, 2025

While we prioritize applications from people whose contracts are ending soon, we will also consider those on longer contracts that may overlap. If the team is interested in moving forward, our Artist Manager can speak with your current Producer about the potential transfer.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

- Utilizing the Key BG designs as reference to draw rough and clean layouts for all assigned sequences, following the direction of the BG Layout Supervisor
- Upholding the quality and style of the show while completing all layouts/colour and revisions
- Keeping within production deadlines to meet assigned weekly quotas and expectations
- Ensuring all artwork is backed up and stored appropriately

What You’ll Bring:

- Previous experience on a 2D animated production, with prior experience in BG Design, BG Layout, or Colour preferred
- Comprehension and knowledge of designing and painting in Photoshop
- Strong drawing skills and understanding of perspective
- You're comfortable working with colour theory
- You excel at creative problem-solving
- You're accountable and effectively manage your time and assignments
- You're able to take direction, be versatile, and work collaboratively within a team
- You're self-motivated, seek out feedback, and have a desire for continuous learning
