We're looking for a BG Layout Supervisor to join us on a 2D Unannounced Project!

In this role, you work in collaboration with the Director to define shooting style and lens packages. You establish camera blocking, lens choice and composition, while working closely with other departments to ensure smooth transitions and improved tools and processes. You oversee the daily activities and processes of the Previs team and assign sequences as needed.

Start Date: 7 July, 2025*

End Date: 10 October, 2025*

While we prioritize applications from people whose contracts are ending soon, we will also consider those on longer contracts that may overlap. If the team is interested in moving forward, our Artist Manager can speak with your current Producer about the potential transfer.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

- Guiding and developing a team of artists to create the requested style of production layouts for 2D animation
- Formulating a plan for each episode to achieve deliverables, creating efficiencies, and working closely with the Production Coordinator to proactively flag and problem-solve any potential issues
- Assigning and reviewing production layouts, ensuring revisions are completed as needed to uphold a high level of quality throughout the show
- Managing a team to ensure they are meeting assigned weekly quotas and expectations
- Ensuring production layouts work well for the rest of the animation pipeline
- Collaborating with other departments in a team workplace

What You’ll Bring:

- 3+ years of experience in production layouts
- Ability to guide and mentor a diverse team; previous experience in a supervisory or lead role is a definite asset
- Comprehension and knowledge of designing and painting in Photoshop or Flash
- Strong drawing skills and understanding of perspective
- Comfortable working with colour theory
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Accountability, self-motivation and strong time management skills required for a fast-paced environment
- Effective and professional communication skills
