- Completion of a college diploma or a university degree.
- A professional designation in either Materials or Purchasing ( i.e. CPIM; C.P.P.; Plog). Additional experience may be substituted for some of the above.
- 3-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment that may be similar to the automotive industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with suppliers.
- Positive working knowledge of purchasing and MRP systems (Knowledge of SAP an asset).
- Excellent problem solving techniques and methods.
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees both within the organisation and with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
- Computer skills in the area of word processing, spreadsheets, databases and project management.
