Forecast Coffee is looking for a Cafe Manager in North Vancouver. As part of our continued growth, we are adding two new locations in North Vancouver and we are looking for candidates with the experience to help us establish ourselves in this new neighbourhood. Both locations will offer our fantastic coffee, house-made baked goods, and an elevated everyday food menu. “Forecast Coffee exists to create space to feed the soul, igniting our collective passion for each other, our community, and the outdoors.” Café/Bar Daily Operations: Managing the café/bar while on shift; Scheduling staff and managing labour Preparing and serving coffee, food and drinks, clearing tables, washing dishes – getting dirty and leading by example Creating a welcoming, secure and inclusive environment for staff and customers Managing stock, inventory and ordering so we can continue to make our customers happy Administrative Operations: Financial Management – meeting or exceeding set budgets Community Engagement – Active involvement in community events, building positive relationships in the neighborhood.
Social
Purpose – considering environmental and social impact when making decisions for the store. Training will be provided – however experience in some (or all) of these aspects will be considered a great asset. Hiring, firing and discipline Providing all team members with fulsome basic training following Forecast Training Program Approving vacation and time off requests according to business needs Bank reconciliations and cash drops (every 2 weeks) Perform Café Health Check (weekly)
Monitoring / adjusting weekly task list and delegating to team to ensure everything on list gets done to appropriate level Reporting maintenance issues and booking service according to schedules or needs Weekly inventory to assist with accurate ordering (orders Monday and Thursday) Receiving orders, checking for accuracy and entering into our Inventory system Month end inventory (last week of month) Managing regular communication to the team Manage in-store events program by meeting with event leaders, planning operations and bringing event ideas to life Attend weekly all-hand Manager meeting – collate data and bring ideas and issues to solve Specialty coffee experience – passion, knowledge and understanding of coffee, roasting processes and origin Experience of training and development of a team Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Understanding of POS and inventory software Food Safe Level 1 (or higher) Serve-it-Right Certificate Willingness to accept and follow direction from management Confident in delegating tasks, coaching and directing your team+ Experience running your own business or a stand-alone location within a larger organization would be very beneficial Because we are a young, passionate company with fantastic coffee!
