Position Overview





Key Accountabilities and Supporting Tasks

- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub-flooring and install walls and roofing systems

- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures

- Fit and install trim, doors, stairs, moulding and hardware

- Prepare cost estimates as needed

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements

- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

Qualifications

Must-have:

- Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or minimum of 4 years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry

- Knowledge of WorkSafe requirements as it pertains to Carpentry

Nice-to-have:
- Previous supervisory experience managing trades and subcontractors

- Knowledge in MS Office, including SharePoint

- Experience with Smartphones, productivity apps and computers
