Duties and responsibilities: Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing systems and accessories.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the design/layout of the plumbing system, water supply network, and waste and drainage systems.
Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and wall and floor fittings using measuring tools, such as levels and plumb bobs.
Cut and core holes in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
Measure, cut, thread and connect pipes using hand and power tools or machines, such as pipe cutters, and threading machines.
Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, soldering, brazing and welding equipment, according to the specifications and requirements of the plumbing system.
Check pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges and other specialized testing equipment.
Troubleshoot plumbing system problems and identify appropriate solutions.
Support the growth and development of company culture
Work alone or in a groups
Teach apprentices
Mechanical rooms/boiler work would a bonus
Performs other duties as requiredRequirements:
Minimum 5 years of working as a plumber
Proof of Red Seal/ Journeyman ticket
Knowledge of Federal/ Provincial plumbing codes
Gas B ticketPhysical Requirements
Must be able and willing to stand on your feet most of the day working in various weather conditions
Must be able to lift, carry and move heavy itemsWhat else will make you succeed in this role:
