GENERAL

The Cutter Operator reports directly to the Chipping Manager in the Chipping Department and is responsible for operating and maintaining a cutting machine, pre-trim and final cutting all print or coating material and performing other duties as required. Follow all safety procedures, understand all safety equipment, and adhere to company policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and adjust the cutter machine by instructions and job requirements.

Set up automatic cutting programs manually into the cutter machine.

Operate cutter machine and ancillary equipment to cut the material into desired dimensions.

Evaluate and make decisions concerning the quality of the product while cutting.

Keep accurate press sheet information with dates and counts.

Monitor machine during runs to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed.

Cutting of coated stock and printed stock.

Perform routine maintenance, such as blade replacement, lubrication, and waxing.





Notify supervision of mechanical/electrical problems and complete “Work Orders” for parts/repairs that require maintenance assistance.

Maintains a clean working environment.

Compliance with safety policies and procedures.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Familiar with computers and related programs

Strong mathematical skills

Manufacturing and paper jogger skills an asset

Self-motivated, able to work well independently

Attention to detail

Ability to work efficiently, accurately

Must have a positive and skilled work ethic and excellent attendance

Strong organizational skills

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or grade 12 G.E.D.

1+ years of work experience in operating cutter machine is an asset.

Knowledge of quality and safety issues.
