Role Purpose The DataCenter Administrator I is an entry-level, onsite role that supports the physical and virtual infrastructure powering Framewerx’s Private VDI environments, Azure-integrated local platforms, and emerging AI compute clusters. This hands-on position plays a key part in maintaining high availability, system stability, and operational readiness across the Framewerx data center environment.
This role is ideal for candidates beginning their infrastructure career who are looking to gain real-world experience in a modern, quick-moving data center operation. It provides a structured entry point into server and network administration, with a pathway toward senior engineering roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monitoring, diagnostics, and basic remediation across storage, server, and network systems
- Assist with setup, racking, and cabling of physical infrastructure hardware
- Complete physical and logical asset tracking, documenting all installations and changes
- Support provisioning and maintenance of Private VDI environments and virtual server hosts
- Assist with configuration and deployment tasks related to Azure-integrated systems and local AI compute infrastructure
- Escalate issues appropriately based on defined SOPs and work closely with senior team members on resolution
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all tasks in our PSA and infrastructure documentation systems
- Participate in readiness activities for infrastructure projects and client onboarding efforts
Success Metrics
- Accurate and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure assets and changes
- Completion of assigned project tasks within expected timelines
- Uptime and alert responsiveness for monitored systems
- Consistent and timely PSA time entry with proper categorization
- Team feedback and alignment with infrastructure project priorities
Qualifications
- Education: 2-year diploma in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field, OR Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support, technical operations, or infrastructure environments
- Experience & Skills: Basic understanding of virtualization and networking concepts Comfort with hands-on work involving physical hardware and cabling Familiarity with data center best practices and safety procedures Willingness to learn complex infrastructure systems and support frameworks Effective communication and strong attention to detail
Technical Competencies
- Exposure to Windows and/or Linux server environments
- Introductory experience with virtual machines, hypervisors, or VDI platforms
- Foundational networking knowledge (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, VLANs)
- Experience with ticketing/documentation systems preferred
- Eagerness to grow skills related to Azure hybrid environments and high-performance compute systems
