Cornerstone HR and Recruitment is partnering with Absolute Care Solutions Inc. to make a difference in our community. Our client is seeking a reliable and compassionate Developmental Service Workers in Ottawa and surrounding areas!

Education and experience :Developmental service worker diploma/Social Services Worker Diploma or equivalent required

- Availability to work every other weekend
- Experience working with aggressive and behavioural clients

Come join us and help make a difference! Our partner is committed to meeting the needs of youth, children and adults with special needs and mental health care needs. We are looking to expand our dedicated team of skilled support workers in the community and in Family Homes!

This role offers the opportunity to work with children and young people, particularly those suffering with symptoms related to ADD/ADHD, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, mental health issues, disruptive behaviours, family dynamics and educational struggles.

The Support Worker performs any combination of the following duties :
- Passion and demonstrated ability to work with clients who have complex special needs.
- Ability to support and manage challenging behaviors.
- Ability to build therapeutic rapport and follow prescribed programming.
- Experience in design and implementation of life skills, cognitive retraining and applying the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Ability to function within a team or in the community.




- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, computer and writing skills.
- Committed to your professional development.

Job Qualifications

- University degree or College diploma in a related discipline in Developmental Service Worker or Social Service Worker Program
- Minimum of 6 months experience in social services with individuals with autism, mental health, behavioural, and complex needs
- Cleared Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)
- CPR and First Aid certification (current) Certification in a recognized Crisis Intervention- (NVCI, SMG, training available)

Additional Requirements:

- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
- G class driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and/or First Aid will be considered an asset.

- Valid G Driver's License (required)
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Personal Vehicle (required)
- Immunization Records
- Language: English Required
- Location: Ottawa, Kanata, Orleans, Rockland, Embrun Prescott-Russell, Hawkesbury and Longueuil
