Lead strategic communications at the University of Waterloo as the Director of Communications for the Faculty of Environment. You'll create impactful narratives that engage diverse audiences and enhance the Faculty's reputation. As the Director, you will provide high-level communication counsel to the Dean and faculty leaders while overseeing the embedded communications team.
Your role involves aligning faculty priorities with institutional strategy and creating compelling stories from complex research and achievements. You will also manage communications planning, ensuring that all messaging resonates with stakeholders and supports the university's mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead faculty communications planning and strategy alignment
- Provide strategic counsel to university leadership
- Oversee team performance and resource allocation
- Manage communications risks and sensitivities
- Develop clear messaging for diverse audiences
Requirements:
- 7-9 years in strategic communications
- 3-5 years in a leadership role
- Experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- Robust understanding of academic communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
