Educational Assistant

Clearview Public Schools invites applications for an Educational Assistant position at the Lane’s Lake Colony School located approximately 15 minutes southeast of Halkirk, Alberta. This colony school has 17 students in grades 1 to 8. This position is scheduled to start at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year and will be 6 hrs/day.

The successful applicant will provide support to students in the classroom, including individualized assistance for a student with specialized needs. Responsibilities include:

- Assisting classroom teachers with the delivery of instructional programs and learning activities;

- Supporting and providing educational opportunities for students, including a student with complex learning and developmental needs;

- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialized support staff (e.g., SLP, OT) to implement student learning plans and support student success;

- Supporting student engagement, independence, and participation in classroom and school activities;

- Providing general classroom support as directed by the classroom teacher;

- Other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher.

The successful applicant will

- Be able to work in a collaborative team environment;

- Be interested or experienced in working with children with a variety of needs; and

- Be a self starter capable of working independently.





Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting students with complex needs and those who hold an Educational Assistant Certificate and/or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) certification, though these are not mandatory.
