Position Overview

This role is ideal for a highly organized, adaptable, and student-focused educator who thrives on creating meaningful learning experiences. The purpose of the Teacher position is to deliver engaging, personalized instruction that supports academic growth, independence, and confidence across in-person and online settings.

The Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering lessons aligned with the curriculum for the area the student is living, maintaining effective communication with families, and contributing to the development of high-quality learning programs. This role involves a mix of one-on-one and small group teaching across multiple locations and online platforms, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, preparation, and collaboration.

Responsibilities (tasks associated with the role)

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the BC curriculum and Gabby’s Classroom standards.
- Adapt instruction to meet the individual needs of students and support measurable learning progress.
- Assess and track student achievement, providing regular feedback to students and families.
- Identify and report any unforeseen situations in the classroom or facility to leadership promptly.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that fosters student independence and confidence.
- Communicate effectively with families to share updates, address questions, and maintain strong relationships.
- Support families through Independent School application processes when required.
- Develop and contribute to teaching materials, worksheets, and curriculum resources.




- Maintain accurate lesson plans, student records, and assessment documentation.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and peers to ensure consistent quality of instruction and alignment with company goals.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour management and professionalism within all learning settings.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and curriculum planning.
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility in teaching across different sites, grade levels, and delivery modes.
- Write detailed lesson notes and progress reports that accurately reflect student learning and development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment that ensures a safe and qualified space for students.
- Actively promote and embody our core values, serving as a brand ambassador for Gabby’s Classroom in all interactions.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Elementary or Secondary Education).
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience (preferred Pre-K to Grades 7).
- Strong knowledge of curriculum implementation and assessment practices.
- Excellent command of English, with strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.




- Confidence working independently and teaching in hybrid (in-person and online) formats.
- Proven ability to manage classroom behaviour and foster positive student relationships.
- Experience mentoring or collaborating with other educators.
- ESL or ECE certification (preferred).
- Experience working in an independent school (preferred).
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (required).
- Willingness to travel between sites and work in students’ homes (required).
