Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572

: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medial Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Education

- Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)

Licenses

- Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Education and Training

- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Current CPR certification

- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)

- Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively

- Ability to be resilient
- Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations
- Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to exhibit situational awareness
- Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice

Other Information

- Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
