Role: Engineer E3 – Maintenance & Reliability

Location: Edmonds, BC (Hybrid – Onsite Wednesday & Thursday)

Contract Duration: 2026-06-01 - 2027-05-29

Max INC Rate: $82.80/

Max T4 Rate: $70.17/

About the Role The Engineer E3 is a fully qualified engineering qualified responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions for low to medium complexity projects and operational work. This role focuses on preventive maintenance program development, equipment reliability, and engineering support for power generation and electrical assets. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure all deliverables are completed safely, with quality, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electricity generation and electrical equipment, including procedures, instructions, record forms, and spare parts identification
- Analyze equipment performance, identify failure modes, and recommend mitigation strategies to improve reliability and operational efficiency
- Support commissioning and maintenance planning for electrical and protection & control (P&C;) systems
- Interpret engineering drawings (single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts) to assess system functionality and risks
- Assist project and operations teams with scheduling, cost tracking, contractor coordination, and progress reporting
- Recommend design improvements, cost changes, and contractor payments based on work progress and performance
- Conduct site visits for construction quality control, inspections, and compliance monitoring
- Collaborate with senior engineers on complex or high-risk engineering challenges
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including SMEs, field teams,



and compliance personnel

Required Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum 4+ years of engineering experience in maintenance, commissioning, or reliability engineering
- Experience in power utilities, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments
- Proven experience with operation, maintenance, and failure remediation of electrical systems and equipment
- Hands-on experience developing preventive maintenance programs and/or commissioning plans

Technical Experience

Experience working with the following equipment:

- Diesel generators
- Medium and low voltage systems (transformers, breakers, switchgear, disconnect switches, surge arresters, distribution panels, VFDs)
- DC power systems (batteries, chargers)
- Protection & control systems
- Monitoring and control components

Education & Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC (EGBC), or eligible for registration
- Valid Permit to Practice (individual or through employer) required prior to start

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of electrical systems, maintenance strategies, and failure analysis
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical manuals
- Familiarity with CAD systems and engineering drawing standards
- Experience with engineering/design analysis tools
- Working knowledge of Digital Sign & Seal tools (e.g., Notarius)
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice-to-Have

- Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Soft Skills

- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills
- Collaborative team player with stakeholder coordination experience
