The incumbent works collaboratively with colleagues to enhance event and donor engagement experience and maximize desired outcome(s). This role requires a highly energetic events/donor relations professional with a solid track record of executing a range of exceptional events.
This role supports building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in a high pressure, high volume, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing timelines. You bring experience in event planning, donor stewardship, or fundraising, along with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while delivering outstanding experiences for donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
Most importantly, you are passionate about building stronger, more inclusive communities and are motivated by making a meaningful impact. As the Events and Donor Relations Coordinator, you will help advance United Way BC's strategic priorities by coordinating donor engagement, stewardship, recognition initiatives,
and exceptional events that strengthen relationships with supporters. Working collaboratively across teams, you will enhance the donor and event experience, build meaningful stakeholder relationships, and apply strong organizational and project management skills to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- This is a temporary full-time position scheduled to end in January 2028 to provide leave coverage. As this is a temporary position, the term may be extended or concluded earlier based on operational requirements.
Special Events
Plans and executes cultivation and stewardship events, including the associated administration, coordination of personnel and physical set-up, and take-down. Events may involve evening and weekend hours and necessary adjustments to work week. Attends meetings with donors or event leaders as appropriate.
Provides outstanding service to all stakeholders and ensures timely pre- and post-event follow-up and ensure the highest standard of experience for event attendees. Works collaboratively with members from the Philanthropy Team and other units in the creation of events related collateral and ensures a seamless process. Works with the Director to develop and maintain a calendar and timeline for annual cultivation and stewardship events.
Participates in the development of multi-year event planning as a strategic tool for the Philanthropy Team. Supports stewardship processes, including follow-up and thanking of PT donors via personal contact, communication materials, receipting, and other engagement methods. Ensure timely and accurate acknowledgement,
thanking, recognition and excellent customer service.
May participate in community engagement or fundraising activities. Manages team including hiring and performance management. 2 (Two) year diploma in marketing, communications, advertising or public relations ~ Certificate in project management is an asset A minimum of 3 (Three) years of experience in fundraising, stewardship and/or event planning Strong inter-personal skills. Ability to establish long-term, collaborative relationships with colleagues build on trust, respect, humility and openness Is enthusiastic and curious about social justice issues and committed to making positive change Has High proficiency with Microsoft computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and contact management databases Hybrid with minimum 3 (three) days in the office Some hours outside of business hours to attend meetings and events Has access to reliable transportation to organize and attend events, bring collateral etc.

This is a bargaining unit role with CUPE Local 1760. This position is at pay grade 34, which is $41.09 hourly . Candidates must live within 80 KMs (commuting distance) from our office as this position is currently a hybrid role and office attendance is required. #
