Do you enjoy fixing up houses and helping people in your community? Certified & experienced roofers are needed all year round, especially during the rainy season when a lot of homeowners realize their roof has sprung a leak. Not only will you have an opportunity to work on residential and commercial buildings, but you will become familiar with installations methods for installing a certified Duro-Last roofing system.

Ideal candidate will be interested in completing the apprenticeship program and long-term chance for growth. As a roofer, you will work as part of a spirited team that knows how to get a job done but also when to have fun.

Essential Job Functions

- Certification in roofing or relevant construction experience

- At least 18 years old

- Reliable transportation

- Ability to lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs.

- Operate machinery safely

- Ladder safety and ability to climb to heights and work with proper safety restraints

Education/Preferred Experience

- Knowledge of different types of roofing systems

- Knowledge of building ordinances

- Two years of experience working as a roofer

- Interested in completing the Apprenticeship program

- Fall Protection certification is required before hired - can do online

- WHMIS Certification is required before hire - can do online

- Basic First Aid is encouraged

Responsibilities





- Perform inspections to pinpoint roofing issues and establish the best methods of reparation

- Set up necessary equipment and scaffolding and clear out vegetation, debris and other obstacles in preparation of roofing projects

- Familiarity of Roofing systems and types of material necessary for roofing projects

- Install insulation and waterproof materials according to the best practices for each project’s particular roofing system

Skills and Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of three years’ experience in the roofing field

- Physically fit with the ability to lift and carry loads up to 60 pounds and work in varying temperatures and weather conditions

- Knowledge of roofing procedures, materials and tools
- A valid driver’s license and solid driving history

- Ability to work safely at heights

- Ability to work within a team and meet deadlines

Work location/Schedule

Works regular day shifts with some evening and weekend work, as well as on-call work. This position requires frequent local travel to construction locations; therefore a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are necessary. On occasion their will be out of town and province work.
