Description The Manager, Finance will manage and oversee the organization’s day-to-day financial operations, which include reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and audit, ensuring that financial resources are accounted for accurately, managed responsibly, and are adequately safeguarded. Working closely with the CFO, the Manager will support the execution and implementation of tactical and strategic plans aimed at achieving Neighbours Community Homes’ (Neighbours) goals. The Manager, Finance, will directly supervise the Senior Accountant, the two Financial Analysts, and the Account Payables and Receivable Clerk.

This role will provide guidance and mentorship to these direct reports, ensuring the team is adequately trained, motivated and aligned to achieving Neighbours’ goals and objectives.

Requirements

▪ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. A CPA designation is preferred.

▪ Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

▪ Solid understanding of GAAP, non-profit accounting practices, budgeting and financial reporting standards.





▪ Experience in not-for-profit accounting, particularly with low-income housing, community development, or social services organizations, is preferred.

▪ Knowledge of government funding regulations and experience with managing restricted funds, grants, and government funding is an asset.

▪ High attention to detail and accuracy with a strong ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.

▪ Proven ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including external auditors, donors, government agencies, and program managers.

▪ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

▪ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

▪ Familiarity with Yardi - accounting software or similar program preferred; proficiency in MS Excel is required.
