Description
We are currently seeking a full time Financial Analyst position with a strong finance and technology background to support the adoption of the upcoming IFRS 17 financial reporting standard for insurance contracts. This position reports to the Interim Chief Financial Officer.

We are currently seeking a full-time Financial Analyst position with a strong finance and technology background to support the adoption of the upcoming IFRS 17 financial reporting standard for insurance contracts. This position reports to the Interim Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in an agile environment, solutioning complex issues, contribute to successful completion of accounting projects
- Document accounting procedures, controls and data flows that integrates cross-functionally with other systems and processes
- Support accounting project lead in developing business specifications and accounting processes
- Collaborate with Enterprise Technology in transforming source data for system ingestion
- Execute end-to-end testing plan, reconcile results, and trouble-shoot variances
- Assist in process improvement initiative, develop, and maintain documents on processes and controls
- Support annual budgeting and planning process; prepare and maintain financial forecast, analysis, and management reports
- Support in the development financial KPIs, analytical reports, month end closing, and year-end audit
- Provide timely, accurate financial insight to facilitate management review and decision-making process
Requirements
- Three years of relevant experience in a financial industry
- Bachelor’s degree if Finance, Accounting or Business required, CPA designation considered an asset
- Strong consultative, communication skills; ability to drive transformational change
- Experience in working with IT organization
- Expertise in data manipulation and financial modeling using Microsoft applications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Experience in data analytics and demonstrated use of large data sets to facilitate decision making
- Robust Technical expertise in Microsoft Applications
