We are seeking hardworking and reliable Food Processing/Packaging Laborers to join our team. The successful candidates will assist with the preparation, packaging, and distribution of food products (fruits and vegetables) while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, cleanliness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate food processing equipment to prepare or process products according to company specifications.
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to preset work order system to ensure necessary product volume and specifications are met by a specified deadline.
- Package finished products into appropriate containers, ensuring accurate labeling and sealing according to specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished goods to meet quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, including equipment and tools.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Monitor production lines to prevent errors, minimize waste, identify potential issues and advise supervisors.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, supplies, or finished goods as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, which may include tasks outside of the typical day-to-day operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, such as reference and background checks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Previous experience in food processing, packaging, or manufacturing is an asset but not required.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods.
- Adhere to a uniform set by the company.
- Physical capability to lift and carry items up to [weight limit, e.g., 30–50 lbs.].
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
- A keen attitude to learn and build upon skills is an asset.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus.
- Understanding of rules and standards in place and following them.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Basic communication skills and ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
