Neelands Group Limited is searching for a G2/G1 (308A) Mechanic - Journeyperson to join our HVAC Construction team at our Burlington, Ontario location. This is a regular, full-time union position with a full union compensation package.
Responsibilities: Proficient ability to install HVAC rooftop units, gas piping (high/ low pressure, welded) flashings, exhaust fans, kitchen hoods, grease ducts, ductless spilt units, radiant heaters, and respective supportive frameworks
Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal assemblies
Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed and select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications
Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with TDC, Cleats, bolts, and welded joints
Ensure that efficiency is maximized while installing HVAC systems while in fast-paced workplace
Start up and commissioning HVAC equipment is an asset
Ensure making safety a priority on the job during all activities, including while using tools, installing and fabricating duct systems
Good housekeeping and organization
Work well independently Qualifications: 308A Sheetmetal License, Term 4 and 5 apprentices will be considered Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate
G2 Gas license, G1 is an asset
Valid G license with a clean driver abstract
English language proficiency (read/write/speak)
Experience in brazing
Commercial and industrial HVAC experience an asset
Experience with supermarkets HVAC installation an asset
Transportation of Dangerous Goods License an asset
Must be competent in reading blueprint and electrical and electronic schematics
Must be able to understand electrical and plumbing concepts
Must have basic knowledge of construction methods
Must be able to operate tools, gauges and other testing equipment for HVAC systems What you Bring to the Team: A self-starter who is highly effective working independently and within a team
