The Product Onboarding team is seeking a Technical Lead who will champion the technical direction and delivery for a team managing multiple applications. This role is pivotal in providing technical leadership, mentorship, and ensuring smooth operations across the portfolio. You will play a key role in guiding technical discussions and decisions, that can range from triaging to shaping the future roadmap for the applications as required, to ensure best practices are followed to deliver high-quality solutions that align with business objectives and technology strategy.

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Provide technical leadership in design and implementation discussions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards. Support architectural decisions, provide technical direction, and influence the long-term technical roadmap.

Oversee production support activities, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive measures. Ensure operational excellence across applications, including performance optimization, software currency, and compliance with audit and security findings. Drive continuous improvement in processes, quality, and operational efficiency.

Support

Agile delivery practices and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability. Write well designed, testable, efficient code and unit tests by using best software development practices. Ensure robust logging and monitoring capabilities are implemented and maintained across all applications, enabling proactive issue detection and operational visibility.

Tackle ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges with minimal direction and deliver strong, pragmatic solutions. Coach and guide junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and transparent technical feedback.



Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. 10+ years of experience in software development and supporting complex large-scale customer facing platforms ~5+ years experience working with MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node) in a professional environment ~4+ years experience working in an agile framework (scrum/kanban) ~3+ years of unit testing experience with both frontend and backend code ~Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, production support, and vulnerability remediation ~ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound technical decisions ~ Proven experience in mentoring and leading technical team members of differing opinions, and varying levels of experience ~ Effective organization, planning, and time management skills ~ Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline ~ Exposure to DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket,
