How you’ll contribute The Heat Road Technician provides on-site service and repair of climate equipment to help our customers get the job done right. With safety at the forefront, we inspect, test, and diagnose electrical, propane, and natural gas heaters for repair and/or regular maintenance.
Note: this role can work out of our Mississauga or Cambridge locations.
Responsibilities include: Diagnose and repair natural gas, propane, diesel, and electric-fired heaters. Drive safely to customer sites to perform onsite repairs.
Ensure all equipment is rental-ready and meets set quality and safety standards and ensures all equipment is in working order on customer sites.
Follow the appropriate checklist and procedures. Can read and refer to owners’ manuals and schematics.
Operate and test equipment (under actual operating conditions, if possible).
Provide guidance to Service Technicians on the appropriate service/repairs required.
Assist in making decisions related to equipment retirement.
Possess excellent product knowledge and can effectively transfer this knowledge to customers. This includes explaining features and benefits, secure operating techniques and promoting related accessories/products.
Ensure every customer is treated in a fair and consistent manner, resolving issues as they arise. Follow all paperwork and computer procedure related to servicing of equipment.
Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.

Every
Stephenson’s employee has a duty to report any unsafe working conditions and ensuring that they and their co-workers at all levels of work are wearing their PPE and following our SOPs and policies. What you bring to the table Minimum 3 years’ experience in repair and maintenance of construction heaters and equipment, or relevant experience in a similar background. Apprentices welcome.
Valid G Class Driver’s License and clean abstract.
Must be able to lift and load/unload up to 50lbs on a regular basis Must hold at least one of the following certifications: Over 400,000 BTU construction heater, repair, and maintenance certificate.
CH-SM1 certificate, service and maintenance, oil, propane, and natural gas construction heaters and handheld torches regardless of BTU output.
TSSA Ontario Certificate of Qualification G2 (gas fitter). Strong mechanical aptitude, and general electrical understanding.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work with minimal supervision in various weather conditions.
Results-oriented, achieving high levels of individual and team performance.
