How you’ll contribute The Heat Service Technician is all about producing consistent and reliable equipment to help our customers get the equipment they need to get the job done right. With safety at the forefront, we service each piece of equipment with care and provide support in the order fulfillment activities.
Responsibilities include: Service, operate, test, and maintain natural gas, propane, diesel, and electric industrial heaters.
Conduct minor repairs and maintenance including checking/gapping spark plugs, replacing air filters, greasing/lubricating bearings and joints, replacing/tensioning belts, etc.
Determine the serviceability and/or need for equipment repairs.
Demonstrate excellent product knowledge including features, benefits, safe operating techniques, and knowledge of related accessories and products and be able to communicate that knowledge to customers. Ensure service orders meet quality and safety standards and produce consistent and reliable products. Complete all work orders and related paperwork for equipment servicing.
Follow the appropriate checklists and service procedures including reading and referring to owner’s manuals and schematics when servicing equipment.
Maintain inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of our Rental Management system.
Operate and test equipment under actual operating conditions where possible.

Every
Stephenson’s employee has a duty to report any unsafe working conditions and ensuring that they and their co-workers at all levels of work are wearing their PPE and following our SOPs and policies. What you bring to the table Minimum 1 year of experience servicing heating equipment, construction equipment, or relevant experience in a similar background. Apprentices welcome.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract an asset.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis Under 400,000 BTU construction heater, repair, and maintenance certificate mandatory, can be acquired on the job in week #1 if not held.
Over 400,000 BTU construction heater, repair, and maintenance certificate an asset.
CH-SM1 certificate, service and maintenance, oil, propane, and natural gas construction heaters and handheld torches regardless of BTU output a strong preference.
Technical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge and/or experience with diesel & gas fuel engines and electric/hydraulic systems.
