How you’ll contribute The HLA Service Technician is all about producing a strong and reliable fleet to help our customers get the job done right. With safety at the forefront, we inspect, test and service electrical/hydraulic construction equipment for regular maintenance.
Responsibilities include: Ensure all equipment is rental-ready by cleaning, checking and properly refueling.
Follow the appropriate checklist and procedures. Can read and refer to the owner’s manuals and schematics.
Maintenance can include checking/gapping spark plugs, replacing air filters, greasing/lubricating bearings/ joints, replacing/tensioning belts, etc.
Operates and tests equipment (under actual operating conditions, if possible).
Determines the serviceability or the need for the equipment repair. Completes all services or repairs to OEM specifications.
Possesses excellent product knowledge, including features and benefits, and safe operating techniques.
Ensure every customer is treated in a fair and consistent manner and resolve issues as they arise. Follows all paperwork and computer procedures related to servicing equipment.
Maintains all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.

Every
Stephenson’s employee has a duty to report any unsafe working conditions and ensuring that they and their co-workers at all levels of work are wearing their PPE and following our SOPs and policies. What you bring to the table High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of servicing heavy equipment or related experience. Heavy equipment trades certification is an asset
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
G Class (ON)/Class 5 (AB) Provincial Driver’s License and clean Drivers Abstract preferred.
Must possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with Health and Safety training is an asset (i.e. WHMIS, etc.). Action-oriented with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
