GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:Responsible for operating honing machines to hone internal or external surfaces of metal parts.SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:Setup machine as required by drawing specifications.Determine product dimensions, tooling, and to plan operational sequence by studying work orders, or machining instructions.Make changes to machine operation when necessary.Select tooling to be used in machine operation, utilizing knowledge of machine and production requirements.Thread and hand feed materials through machine cutters or abraders.Inspect or measure product through the use of measuring instruments to ensure conformance.Hone parts to prescribed dimensions.Follow the company Health and Safety Policy and practice safe working habits,



industrial hygiene and valuable housekeeping around benches and machines.All other duties as assignedDIMENSIONS:Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.Ability to setup honing equipment.Ability to read blue prints.Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses and maintenance.Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
