Position Title: Tax Manager Leader and Top Tax Authority of Company

Role Summary:

The Tax Manager is an essential role as the key tax authority at the Firm. A primary function of your role is spending time answering tax related questions pertaining to our operations activities and business objectives. Reports into the Group Controller

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Responsibilities:

- Prepare and/or review Canadian corporate tax filings.

- Manage and prepare submissions for indirect and direct tax audits/reviews by tax authorities.

- Design, recommend and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities in accordance with current tax laws and regulations.

- Assist in implementing and maintaining transfer pricing policies.

- Ensure tax assessments and notices of reassessment are reviewed and responded to in a timely and appropriate manner.

- Prepare/review monthly tax provisions; prepare tax note and related support for year-end external audit.

- Monitor tax law changes and ensure they are appropriately reflected.

- Coordinate and track all tax payments (instalments, sales tax,



etc.).

- Calculate and maintain monthly tax forecast (tax provision and sales tax projections).

- Prepare and/or review Canadian indirect tax filings (HST, QST, PST).

- Advise on indirect tax rules to ensure maximum recovery of input tax credits.

- Ensure tax registrations and elections are filed and maintained in all tax jurisdictions required.

- Support operations and AP/AR staff with project and billing related tax issues.

- Provide support to the organization in other tax related matters; such as payroll taxes and options.

- Maintain share capital and stock option information liaising with legal and payroll departments.

- Work closely with legal to maintain legal entity organizational charts for finance and tax purposes

- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.

Greater Toronto Area (WEST END) (5 mins from Major QEW Exit) Amazing Hybrid Working Model 2 days in office rest work from home in place way before COVID PADEMIC

Salary Range:

Based on Experience plus Bonus (Senior Manager/Entry Level Director Tier)

Requirements:

​​​





- A university degree in business (or related discipline) from a recognized and accredited educational institution

- Recognized qualified designations; CPA ,

- Strong corporate and commodity tax experience

- Experience in industry working with corporate and commodity tax is an asset
- In Depth tax training is an asset Experience

- Canadian private company tax exposure with multiple legal entities and related party transactions

- Expert at corporate tax strategy and preparation

- Well versed in Canadian commodity taxes across the provinces

- Exposure to section 150 election and GST 111 preparation is an asset

- Skilled in working with complex worksheets in preparing working papers for filing taxes

- Big 4 Firm tax experience or experience from CPA firm considered an asset

- 5+ years of relevant work experience.

- Collaborative partner who works with finance and the business on tax issues

- Research and provide guidance on tax issues, collaborating with auditors as needed

- Cater communications to the audience, be it finance or the business and explain information in simple terms

- Excellent decision making and analytical skills.

- Keen attention to detail and ability to self-check work.

- Strong time management and prioritization skills.

- Energetic, curious self-starter with a passion for improving processes and creating efficiencies.

- Ability to work in a growing, entrepreneurial environment and an industry that is always changing and developing.
