Position Title: Corporate Controller

Client Details:

Our Client Canada’s leading provider of innovative science and engineering services to the Electricity Energy Sector. Employing more than 1000 engineers, scientists and technologists their employees are recognized worldwide for outstanding technical excellence in the energy sector

Role Summary:

The Corporate Controller will report directly to CFO and will be responsible for having an immediate leadership impact managing team of 8 (6 finance directs and 2 tax directs)

Main Job Responsibilities:

- Provide leadership and assistance in company-wide accounting, banking, reporting, costings and budgeting.

- Lead financial planning, forecasting strategies and practices to improve profitability and cash flow.

- Budgeting - Lead annual process and associated reporting ensuring accuracy and structure are up to date

- Month End - Ensure compliance, reconciliations and delivery of financial information is accurate and timely

- Forecast - Ensure timelines, reporting/banking/lending, fixed assets, reconciliations are accurate and timely

- Process improvement - Oversee leveraging Vena system and project team to streamline budgeting, forecasting, month end processes in addition to integrating current acquisitions

- Ensure all company financial practices are in-line with laws, regulations and legislation.

- Provide timely and reliable consolidated financial statements of the Company.

- Respond to requests for information on financial results of the Company (e.g. from external auditors, lenders, Statistics Canada, Canada Revenue Agency.

- Contribute to the orderly and efficient month end and year end “closing the books” for the business

- Financial accounting process owner for systems related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, banking, facilities etc. Make decisions on process reengineering and develop and implement processes and tools required to support the preparation of complete,



timely and accurate financial statements. As well makes recommendations on financial software improvements required.

- Assist managers in completing submissions for capital approvals and provide financial analysis when requested by CFO.

- Assist with financial analysis of growth opportunities and acquisitions

- Assign resources, maintain budgets and schedules, as detailed below

- Run year end audit process creating financial statements for audit purposes and ensure auditors requests are delivered in a timely and accurate manner

- Lead a team of ~ 6 finance and 2 tax staff and manage performance, coach and train staff

- Oversee Finance team

- Oversee Tax Staff ensure compliance of all income, year end and other tax filings

- Interface with internal and external clients and maintain a client focused culture

Location:

Etobicoke by (Kipling TTC Station)

Salary Range:

$130k - 140k based on experience, plus bonus 20%

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration;

- CPA (preferably a Chartered Accountant designation) and MBA considered an asset

- Extensive SAP and Excel experience and expertise, outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to conduct outside/inside research, analyze data and use MS Excel effectively to develop models.

- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience

- Able to learn, understand technical and business processes quickly, and take initiative.

- Ability to gain the confidence of others and comfortable working at all levels and across all functional areas in the organization..

- Excellent presentation skills to all levels of an organization, including the ability to create presentations using MS PowerPoint.

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

- Familiarity with nuclear project/industry/technology and understanding of aspects of work programs and projects associated with cost engineering, work planning and project performance considered an asset

- Experience in a unionized environment an asset
