Avionics / Electrical Engineer (Intermediate)
Location: London, Ontario, Canada (Relocation Required) Responsibilities: Support the senior avionics and electrical engineers as required
Prepare type design and/or manufacturing process changes related to aircraft avionics and electrical systems to improve, quality, safety, and performance of aeronautical products
Review engineering change requests and participate in the classification of type design changes
Assist with developing certification plans for changes to existing type designs or recent aeronautical products
Create test plans, analysis reports, design reviews and other substantiating documents Design and prepare flight test change orders for test aircraft modifications and installation of test equipment
Participate in testing (ground & flight), perform post-test analysis, create and review test reports
Generate and review compliance reports to document compliance to the regulations
Develop and review engineering, material, and process specifications
Support Continued Airworthiness activities including review of technical publications and investigation of occurrences and service difficulties
Participate in research and development activities for new products or designs
Other duties as assigned Experience: 3 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience in aeronautical product development
Experience in performing type design changes to aeronautical products
Experience in troubleshooting avionics/electrical systems
Experience in life cycle development of airborne systems, software and AEH following RTCA DO-178, DO‑254 and SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761
Knowledge of Airworthiness Manual Chapter 523 Canadian Aviation Regulations
Familiarity with Garmin avionics and aircraft electrical systems
Experience with CATIA V5, AutoCAD / DraftSight, and Solid Edge
Proficiency in MS Office products and collaboration tools
Experience in writing technical reports
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work well within a team environment
Capable of independent decision making
Ability to prioritize tasks based on company requirements
Professional Engineering License is an asset
Private pilot license is an asset Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Electronics, Avionics, Telecommunication, Software)
