Our client is a reputable mid sized General Contractor based in East Toronto. They have a reputation for building quality ICI projects throughout Ontario. Due to continued growth, they are adding a Junior Accountant to their team.

Responsibilities

- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

- Verify or reconcile bank transactions, complete deposits, and issue cheques

- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices

- Input AP Invoices in QB and Project Costing excel files

- Update accounts payable

- Perform monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations between QB and Project Costing excel files

- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned

- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports

- Assist Controller in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings

- Assist with other accounting duties

Requirements





- Proven experience as a junior accountant for a General Contractor in the ICI Sector

- Excellent organizational skills

- Exceptional attention to detail

- Excellent administrative skills

- Good oral and written communication skills

- Strong problem-solving skills

- Ability to self-motivate

- Ability to work together with others

- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen

- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and QuickBooks

- Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required
