Position Summary Reporting to the Crew Chief and the Maintenance Manager, the Aircraft Certification Authority’s (ACA) primary responsibility includes but is not limited to servicing, inspecting, certifying, repairing and performing mechanical maintenance to an aircraft before it is considered airworthy.

ACA personnel are responsible for work they accomplish as well as work they certify with a maintenance release
Ensures compliance with CAR/STD 571
Carry out maintenance, repair and modification on company and customer aircraft and aeronautical products
Assist in the instruction of “on the job” training for Apprentice mechanics
Responsible for the supervision, completion and certification of work performed by apprentice mechanics performing work under their direction
Complete and certify logbooks, worksheets and task cards for work accomplished
Ensure that procedures for stock control are maintained as per company policy
Ensure the proper care and handling of company tooling and report unserviceable maintenance equipment to the Maintenance Manager
Ensure that safety precautions are being observed by apprentice mechanics
Monitor housekeeping and security of premises
Knowledgeable regarding the locations and use of fire extinguishers and fire alarm boxes
Attend training courses as required
Familiarity with the Maintenance Policy Manuals (MPM) and applicable Maintenance Control Manuals (MCM) and Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL)
Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications Valid AME license with either M1 and/or M2 rating
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset Working Conditions Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
Work in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
