Marketing Manager, Consumer Shows
We’re looking for a creative, strategic and highly organized Marketing Manager, Consumer Shows to lead the marketing strategy for Blue Ant Media’s portfolio of 11 consumer shows across home, cottage, lifestyle, baby and wellness categories.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who knows how to turn live events into must-attend experiences. You understand that great marketing goes beyond logos and media plans, it’s about defining a clear value proposition, crafting compelling messaging, and creating campaigns that give audiences a real reason to show up.
You will lead the campaign strategy, messaging and year-round audience engagement approach for each show. You’ll work closely with Show Directors, Creative, Data, Communications, Sales, Operations and external partners to ensure every campaign has a clear point of view and every show has a compelling reason to attend.
You’ll also lead two (2) Brand Specialists and work closely with the Coordinator, Finance and Consumer Shows, who supports select marketing, ticketing and social workflows. Together, you’ll help bring our shows to life before, during and after each event.
This role will play a key role in shaping how thousands of people discover and experience some of Canada’s best-known consumer shows. From leading creative campaigns and building year-round audience engagement to collaborating with major partners and supporting sales growth, you’ll see your work come to life before, during, and on the show floor.

This role will report to the VP, Marketing, Canadian Media and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, with final compensation determined by experience and qualifications.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
What You’ll Actually Do Deliver Compelling, Audience-First Campaigns: You’ll lead the marketing strategy for each show, defining the positioning and messaging that connect with audiences and clearly communicate the show’s value. Collaborating with the Creative Team,
Show Directors, and Data Lead, you’ll bring together exhibitors, content, and experiences into engaging campaigns that convert interest into attendance.
Lead the Creative Briefing Process: You’ll guide campaign development across digital, social, print, radio, onsite, email, sales materials and partner assets, ensuring the creative is consistent, compelling and true to each show brand.
Own the Year-Round Audience Engagement Strategy: You’ll lead the organic social and content strategy for the Consumer Shows portfolio, ensuring our brands stay active and relevant beyond the weeks immediately surrounding each event. This includes working with the Communications lead on influencer strategy, seasonal content moments, social days, partner amplification, and platform opportunities.
Bring Big Partnerships to Life: You’ll work with Show Directors and internal stakeholders to support large-scale marketing partnerships with brands, media partners, transit partners, retailers, associations and community organizations. Whether it’s an appliance company, media outlet, GO Transit, magazines, newspapers or other major partners, you’ll help shape campaigns that feel valuable, visible and integrated into the show experience.
Support Sales with Strong Marketing Materials: You’ll partner with the Show Team and the Data lead to develop materials that help drive exhibitor and sponsorship interest. This includes sales decks, exhibitor-facing messaging, marketing toolkits, email content, promotional opportunities and new business acquisition support.
Guide Email and Direct Audience Communications: You’ll oversee the content strategy for consumer and exhibitor email communications, working with the Data lead and Coordinator to ensure email campaigns are timely, useful, on-brand and aligned with each show’s goals.
Lead and Develop the Team: You’ll manage two Brand Specialists and work closely with the Coordinator, Finance & Consumer Shows. You’ll help set priorities, review work,
keep projects moving and ensure the team is focused on the highest-impact marketing activities across the full show calendar.
Bring the Campaign to Life Onsite: You’ll attend our consumer shows to ensure marketing plans are being executed, content opportunities are being captured, partners are supported and the onsite experience reflects the campaign promise. You’ll see firsthand what is resonating with audiences and bring those learnings back into future campaigns.
Qualifications 5+ years’ experience in event marketing, consumer marketing, media, live experiences or a related field.
Experience developing creative campaigns that drive ticket sales, attendance, audience engagement or consumer action.
Demonstrated ability to leverage data and consumer insights to inform strategy, define clear value propositions, and shape impactful, audience-focused messaging.
Solid understanding of how to build a clear value proposition and translate it into compelling messaging.
Experience leading creative briefs and working with designers, writers, producers, agencies or internal creative teams.
Strong organic social media instincts, including content planning, platform trends, influencer opportunities and community engagement.
Experience with email marketing, content calendars, promotional campaigns and audience communications.
Comfort supporting B2B marketing needs, including sales materials, sponsorship support, exhibitor communications or partner toolkits.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple brands, shows and deadlines at once.
Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
Collaborative working style and comfort partnering with Show Directors, Sales, Creative, Operations, Data, Communications and external partners.
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to make smart decisions in a fast-moving environment.
Availability for occasional evenings and weekends based on the show calendar. Nice to Have Experience marketing consumer shows, trade shows, festivals, conferences, ticketed events, attractions or live shopping experiences.
Experience in home, design, cottage, lifestyle, parenting, baby, wellness, food, retail or similar consumer categories.
Experience developing co-promotion campaigns with major brands, media partners, retailers or associations.
Familiarity with Wrike or similar project management tools.
Experience with Mailchimp or other email marketing platforms.
Experience with Meta, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or other social platforms.
