Company Description:

Swift Underground is an turn-key fibre optic installation company located in Steinbach, MB. We use industry leading equipment and technologies to install, test, and deliver high-speed fibre networks. Swift Underground also continues to manage the Swift High Speed network and continues to schedule current installs and service repairs. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our Human Resources team.

Position Summary:

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll information. This half time position reports to our Human Resources Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

- Responsible for the accurate bi-weekly processing of payroll information using our online payroll platform
- Process all applicable deductions and reimbursements for group benefits, pension plans, etc.
- Reconcile payroll and benefit accounts
- Work together with the HR team to collect and validate payroll data, including new hires, wage changes, and terminations
- Process and submit employee ROE’s
- Reconcile and submit all government payroll remittances
- Complete WCB reports and adjustments




- Complete year-end reports and process employee T4’s
- Complete administrative tasks relating to company group benefits packages and pension plans

Position Qualifications:

- Knowledge and experience in payroll processing is required.
- Completion of post-secondary courses or certifications in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll is considered an asset.
- Proficient in the use of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Knowledge of Ceridian would be an asset
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with HR team members
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality

Compensation:

Beginning salary $18-$20/hr based on experience.
