North East School Division invites applications for the position of Permanent School Bus Driver in Melfort & Area for Route #17 with duties commencing September 2026.
The North East School Division is looking for friendly, responsible, and energetic individuals to add to our transportation team. School bus drivers are an key part of a student's day. They are there to greet, guide, and ensure your community's children stay safe as they travel to and from school.
Route details:
- Location: Melfort & Area
- Route number: 17
- Estimated daily km: 314.00/day (subject to change)
- Starts: Sept 2nd, 2026
- Application deadline: August 7th @ 12 noon
As a Route school bus driver, you:
- Provide transportation for students to and from school
- Are eligible for medical and pension benefits
- Earn income and have weekends, evenings and holidays free to pursue other interests
- Are a positive role model to local children
- Support your local community by providing a service for children and parents
Requirements:
- Minimum grade 10 education
- Be medically and physically able to perform the duties of a bus driver
- Minimum valid class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's license (not learner's or graduated license)
- Currently possess or able to obtain a driver's license "S" Endorsement for school bus
- Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
- Acceptable driver's abstract
- Capable of using technology for e-mail, internet access, typical office software, and GPS
- Must have reliable transportation
Training:
Paid training, including mileage, is provided for successful candidates.
Successful candidates will be reimbursed for the costs of; Commercial Medical, SGI Driver's Abstract, CRC and Vulnerable Sector Check, and S-endorsement testing.
