Production Manager SolutionAir is seeking an experienced Production Manager (Monday-Friday 4:00pm - 12:30 am) to lead our manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence across the production floor. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership to achieve key business objectives related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost (SQPRC).
This role is responsible for leading production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, developing frontline leaders, and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement while ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
The Successful
Candidate's Responsibilities Will Include: Leading all production operations to achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost (SQPRC) objectives.
Promoting a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Leading, coaching, and developing Production Supervisors and production employees to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Monitoring and improving key operational KPIs, including safety, productivity, quality, delivery performance, labour efficiency, absenteeism, overtime, and employee engagement.
Developing production schedules and ensuring customer orders are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Customer Service to resolve production challenges and improve operational performance.
Leading daily production meetings and reviewing operational performance against established KPIs.
Managing labour planning, staffing, capacity, and resource allocation to meet production requirements.
Ensuring quality standards are maintained and corrective actions are implemented to address production or customer concerns.
Supporting new product introductions and process improvements to improve manufacturability and operational performance.
Managing departmental budgets and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve cost performance.
Building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning throughout the production department.
The Ideal Candidate for This Position Will Have: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
Experience leading supervisors and large production teams within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in HVAC, custom manufacturing, industrial equipment, sheet metal fabrication, or a related manufacturing industry is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and production planning.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation and manufacturing best practices.
Experience managing operational budgets and production KPIs.
Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Proven ability to lead change, improve performance, and build engaged teams. #solutionair
