Position Overview

We're looking for a Production Artist to join our creative team in Winnipeg, reporting to Associate Creative Director. This is a hands-on production role for a designer who is equally comfortable with technical craft and creative collaboration — someone who can interpret a concept and develop the supporting, client-ready deliverables with an expert eye for detail. You'll work closely with Strategy, Copywriters, Creative Directors, Art Directors, and fellow Designers, often across multiple time zones, to bring campaigns and materials to life.

- Key responsibilities: Execute established designs across social posts and other formats, make copy changes, populate templates, and prepare files for launch or print.
- Scope of work: Check file resolution, file types, digital specifications, print specifications, paragraph styles, character styles, font consistency, and client brand guidelines; work may include comprehensive annual reports and animated poster changes.
- Key stakeholders: Report to Associate Creative Director and work from designs established by other designers, with final approval completed by another person; coordinate with requirements from the media team’s asset matrix.

Craft & Production Skills

- Solid print and digital skills paired with strong organizational skills.

- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Expert attention to detail across all deliverables.
- Exceptional comprehension of client branding and style guides.
- Stays current with industry best practices and emerging production techniques.
- knowledge of design accessibility standards

Collaboration & Creative Process

- Collaborates with clients and the creative team to elevate the creative concept — offering ideas, production solutions, and options.
- Participates in briefs with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Works within cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams, and across different divisions of the creative department with an emphasis on Indigenous-focused clients, including class action settlements
- Partners with Strategy, Copywriters, Creative Directors, Art Directors, and other Designers on the development of work, executing final art independently.
- May work on client accounts spanning multiple time zones, coordinating with team members across varying workdays and schedules.
- Brings ideas and possible solutions forward when challenges arise.
- Takes initiative to contribute to internal team calls and meetings in an additive manner, building on colleagues' ideas to improve the end result.
- Takes initiative to propose and apply new skills or approaches to the work.

Project & Workflow Management

- Works within tight timelines and budgets.

- Prioritizes milestones, objectives, and competing client needs.
- Follows the creative process and naming conventions for file storage.
- Translates and applies learnings from clients and client calls to improve the quality of deliverables.

Growth & Development

- Incorporates feedback constructively to support ongoing professional growth and development.

What You Bring

- 0–2 years of experience providing production and design support in a studio or agency setting.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong production and design craft, ideally including both digital and fabrication/print production experience.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline.
- A genuine interest in trauma-informed, culturally safe, and community-centered creative work.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000 annual salary plus rewarding benefits package. The offered compensation will take into account the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

At Castlemain, we know not everyone’s experience fits a checklist. If this role interests you and you feel you can contribute, we encourage you to apply. We value curiosity, and the unique perspectives people bring.

Castlemain is committed to making our hiring process accessible and supportive. If you need accommodation at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know. We are happy to work with you to ensure your needs are met.
