Medical Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Liverpool, Nova Scotia

Contract Duration: 8 weeks (with potential for extension)

Pay Rate: $90 per hour

Position Overview

Tahir Medix Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Medical Unit at Queens General Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking for a flexible travel assignment in a rural hospital setting.

Hospital Overview

- A 24-bed medical unit caring for a diverse patient population.

- Patients range from stable individuals awaiting long-term care placement to acute cases requiring cardiac monitoring, post-surgical recovery, and chest tube management.

- Day shift core staffing: Two RNs, three LPNs, and two CCAs.

- Night shift core staffing: Two RNs, two LPNs, and one CCA.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct patient care in a medical unit setting with a mix of stable and acute cases.

- Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, post-operative care, and other specialized treatments.

- Administer medications,



assess patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team.

- Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with Nova Scotia Health Authority policies.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

- Active RN License in Nova Scotia

- Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical unit setting

- Mandatory certifications: BLS and ACLS

- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patient care

- Experience with cardiac-monitored patients and post-operative care is an asset
